Area and facilities in Hotel Macià Monasterio de los Basilios
The facility is located within an ecclesiastical complex, there is a church; one or two schools; and basket and football (the real one) courts. Although so many things going around the room was extremely silent. The view towards la Sierra Nevada was very nice and we get to see the monastery tower from the room. It has a separate a/c unit, which is a plus, because the guest controls it. The bed and pillows were super comfortable and the staff were accessible, helpful and friendly. Due to the proximity of Semana Santa, we were able to see a procession of men entering one altar to the Church, which was a very solemn moment for locals, and we were happy to get "trapped by it", since we were able to see a local tradition. Property is adjacent to the historic center, and next to the Genil River, which means you are close to the buzz (Granada center could get very crowded), but not enclosed by it. Restaurants, buses and a Mercadona are within walking distance to the hotel.

Alfonso

Very clean and large room. The center square of the monastery is authentic and original while the rooms have been modernized. The staff is friendly and also available at night. The location is very good: both within easy walking distance of the city center - and further away - while there are also a supermarket and at least two car parking garages super close by. So if you're looking to do a thorough sightseeing trip of Granada by foot and also want to take your (rental) car to the coast for a day trip - I feel this is your best option.

Floris

An amazing building, with a pretty cnetral couryard. The breakfast is plentiful and vaired, the staff were all very friendly and smiley. The location is excellent as its about 10 minutes walk to town, so no distance at all and good for walking off that breakfast or dinner. There's loads of regular buses if you need/prefer. There was sports in the gounds behind a couple of times but we heard no noise so it wasn't an issue for us.

Adrian

Great location. Easy walk to city centre, Albaicin and Alhambra. Easy paid parking just around the corner, with hotel discount or which can be booked online in advance through the car park website for a greater discount, but it was easier for us just to pay the hotel rate. Lovely view of Sierra Nevada mountains from a terrace room but the downside was noisy school playing courts just below the terrace. No kettle in the room.

Katrina

This is a very central location with access to some small local restaurants, parks within a few minutes. Some of the historic sights are within 15minutes walk. Reception staff helpful, in particular Javier who has a deep knowledge of the local area and with useful tips for tourists. Wonderfully tranquil place as one would imagine formerly a monastery.
